Bow Christmas Decor

Hi!  Tina here today with a project to get your home in the holiday spirit in no time at all.

Supplies: Sleigh Bells Ring -Bows, Flair, Decorative Tape; Misc: Wire Frame - Michaels Adhesive: Tombow (liquid), Scortape

Sleigh Bells Ring is a beautiful, classic Christmas collection. Included in the collection is a package of ready to make paper bows. Following the directions on the package, I assembled several of the bows and adhered them to my wire frame. I added a bit of wet adhesive to the back of each bow so they would stay attached to the wire frame.

I added a piece of flair from the Sleigh Bells ring collection to each bow for more whimsy.

My wire frame included a basic white frame, but I wanted to dress it up a bit.  So I added decorative tape to the edges.  This is one of my favorite ways to dress up simple and plain frames.

This project is great because you can re-use the frame after the holiday for future projects.  What a great way to re-use and re-purpose.

Collection Spotlight | Jubilee Tangerine

Hi everyone!  Tina here today with a clean and simple layout with pops of color and pattern.

I'm not sure what your scrappy style is or if it evolves over time, but mine does.  I never know how to answer the question about my scrappy style, because I feel that it is always changing and evolving.  Lately, I like to scrap in a more clean & simple way and this layout reflects that.

Supplies: Jubilee-Tangerine:Triangle paper, Mixed Bag, Enamel Dots, Decorative Brads,Label Stickers, Adventure Flair; Misc: Cardstock:  American Crafts Adhesive: Tombow Die Cut Machine:  Silhouette Cameo Sewing Machine: Brother Thread: Coates

Using white cardstock as my base, I added bits of color and pattern with patterned paper and a cluster of paper and brad embellishments, another favorite technique.

The one advantage of clean & simple scrapping is that layouts are completed in no time at all.  This entire layout took less than 30 minutes to complete, including the die cut title.

Tag Advent Calendar

Hi!  Tina here today with my 2014 version of an Advent Calendar. 

Even though my children are grown and the excitement of the daily opening of an Advent Calendar is not what it was when they were little, I still enjoy creating a calendar each year, using a slightly different idea.

For my 2014 Christmas Advent Calendar, I created a simple Tag Calendar, using a die-cut tag shape. 

For each day, I adhered a glassine envelope to the die-cut tag, then adhered the number tag on top of the envelope. 

I embellished each number tag with Joyous Gems and aged the envelope with Distress Ink.  I printed the daily activity on a strip of paper and 'hid' them in the glassine envelope.

The entire calendar was held together with a large binder ring.  After each day's activity is complete, the tag can be flipped to the back, revealing the next day.  How fun, right?

Collection Combination! Market Street + Necessities Metallics

I love to scrap about my dogs. My two french bulldogs, Moose & Flikka have such great personalities and this is captured in their photos. Since my children are grown, I don't get the chance to use their pictures in my layouts much, but that doesn't stop me.My dogs are 'willing' (okay - maybe not so willing, but available) subjects, so why not?

I pulled out one of my all-time favorite MME collections, Market Street to highlight this photo of Flikka. Market Street is one of those timeless, go-to collections that will always be horded in my stash! I covered a sheet of white cardstock with a sheet of the Necessities Metallic Confetti Foiled Vellum for a great pop of gold!

I am seriously in love with the color palette of the Market Street range and simply adore it combined with gold!

So I want to know! Do you scrap mainly your family? Or do you like to scrap about your pets and other events? I think it's fun to scrap about the non-typical. It's a great way to expand your creative options and gives you a reason to pull out your favorite MME collection! :)

Altered Coupon Holder

Hi! Tina here today with a project that was un-planned, simple, and just plain happy. Often, when creating my Design Team projects, I get caught up in creating something that is overly-complex and over-planned. I get obsessed with creating a WOW project. A project that is much too serious.

But today, I am sharing a ‘spur of the moment’ project that is different than what I normally create.

Y’all know the Target Dollar Spot? That spot, right near the entrance of the store. {The spot that sucks you in} The Dollar spot bins are full of fun, colorful, and seasonal items. I can never walk into a Target without perusing the bins for items ‘I must buy’! ☺

One of the main reasons I enjoy shopping the Dollar Spot bins is that the items are inexpensive. We are all looking for a bargain, aren’t we? During a recent trip, I spied these little coupon holders. Super fun, cute & practical all by themselves.

But does practical need to be plain! No! Why not dress ‘em up a bit? I cut the entire Calendar Sticky Pad from the Jubilee Sherbet Sticky Notes – cardboard and all. I adhered it to the coupon holder with super sticky ScorTape. I added several chipboard and enamel shape embellishments for a whimsical design.

I can carry this in my purse, to crops and creative events. Perfect for little notes and for safe keeping my project photos.

Mini Albums have long been a favorite project of mine.  I love creating minis to preserve those family vacations and trips and for allowing me to share many pictures of a memory, which a normal scrapbook layout doesn’t usually have space for.

While I often create easy, one step mini albums...I also like to create minis using scrapbook paper and my trusty digital die cut machine. To create the pages of my mini album, I digitally cut several page shapes and pockets in varying sizes.

Using coordinating chipboard shapes, enamel dots/shapes, die-cuts, and decorative tape, I embellished my mini, adding photos of a family trip to Gettysburg. 

Special Note:  It is never too late to scrapbook pictures that are years old.  These pictures were taken 7 years ago when my children were much younger.  I have always loved this ‘day vacation’ and thought the Jubliee collection would be perfect for documenting that trip.

 

Once all of my pages were embellished and pictures were added, I bound my mini together with a We R Memory Keepers Cinch.  I recently purchased this and LOVE IT!  Perfect for creating your own minis!

There is still plenty of room in my mini to add more pictures and journaling, documenting my memories of that day.  I love the versatility and endless possibilities when creating this type of project.

Product Spotlight | Decorative Tapes- Market Street

Hi!  Tina here today with a great way to use decorative tape to create a frame on a scrapbook layout.

I have a confession.  My love for decorate tape was starting to wane.  I have loved decorative tape for so long and have been inspired by the amazing patterns, colors, and sizes, but had felt the time had come to de-stash myself of my decorative tape collection. 

I felt that feeling of defeat up until the new decorative tape appeared in the Market Street and Essentials collections.  The decorative tape in these 2 collections made me fall in love with washi all over again, and I am again obsessed with adding tape to every project. 

Instead of using decorative tape for hints of color, layers, and pattern, why not make the decorative tape the star attraction?I created a frame around my cardstock with 2 tapes.  I trimmed the corners to mimic the look of a wood frame. 

Using some of my favorite chipboard, sticker, and die-cut embellishments, I layered more goodness across my page.  I even used a journal card for fun.

Tie it up with a bow!

Quick and Easy MME Home Decor Options

Hi!  Tina here today with two home décor projects that are so easy and simple, it will just amaze you!

If you are not a pocket scrapper, but LOVE our gorgeous journal cards, this first project is just for you. 

  Supplies:Jubilee-Sherbet:Beautiful Journal Cards,Peace Chipboard;Misc: Frame: Michaels Twine: American Crafts Adhesive: Scortape

Find a favorite multi-opening frame, either from your stash or from your local store, with small (less than 3x4) openings.  (If using larger (4x6) journal cards, use a frame with 4x6 openings)

In place of photos, insert 3 pocket journal cards into the frame openings.  Add a chipboard embellishment ON TOP of the glass for more dimension and fun.  Tie a colorful bow and done!

 

My 2^nd project is inexpensive and quick!

If you are like me, you love flair!  Flair is fantastic in scrapbook layouts and mini albums, but I really wanted to use it in a different way. Why not in home décor?

To create my trio of Flair Art, I found clearance frames at my local hobby store.  (I am always on the lookout for clearance and sale frames and alterable items).

I cut out a piece of adhesive fabric to fit inside my frame slot.  I adhered the fabric directly to the enclosed cardboard included with each frame.

Using super sticky adhesive dots, I adhered a set of Flair to each frame.  I told you this was easy!

This is one of those projects that made me think, ‘Why didn’t I think of this sooner?’ I love the simplicity, yet hip and fun look!

So get out those traditional scrapbook supplies and create Easy Peasy Art!

To the Moon and Back

Hello and Happy Friday!  Tina here today with one of my favorite types of projects to make, Home Décor.  If you have followed me for awhile, you would see that I LOVE creating custom-made wall art and Home Décor pieces.  There is a satisfaction in creating something with your own hands and being able to display it for friends and family to see. 

I picked up this ‘Clipboard Frame’ at a local hobby store, knowing it would be perfect for a future Home Décor project.  What is great about this frame is that it can be easily changed with artwork, using the clip to quick changes.

I die cut a popular quote on standard cardstock, and colored it with watercolor paints and crackle paint.  I placed it over a ‘stitched paper pillow’ for more dimension and color.  I added a few metal shapes and dots for more fun!

And who wants a plain white frame??  Not me!  I added a few strips of my favorite Necessities Decorative tape to the outer edges and now it is a One of a Kind project!  Decorative tape is the fastest and easiest way to customize a frame!  Love it!

Collection Spotlight | Necessities

Hello and Happy Thursday! Tina here today with a simple, yet Hip and Fresh layout.

Our new Necessities collections are A.M.A.Z.I.N.G.  I LOVE the timeless colors, the classic patterns, and the latest product styles.

When asked to create a layout using one of the Necessities collections, I couldn’t decide on which one to use first.  I love them all, but especially the Woods Range.

The Woods Range is organic, raw, and textural, which is SO perfect for me.  Even though this layout is super simple, you get a depth of texture and dimension, with just paper and embellishments. 

And the extra large Monogram Alphas??  Be still my heart.  When I first opened my Design Team box, they visually jumped out of the box, right into my crafty little hands.  ;)  I have been crushing on extra large titles, which makes them so perfect.  Simple, yet effective.

 

And don’t forget the new Decorative tapes in the Necessities collections.  They coordinate beautifully.  I wanted a bit of glitz to the organic paper, so I added a strip of the Glitter tape to the bottom of page.  Just the perfect touch of glitz.
