Hello everyone, Shelly here! I am back with this month’s Project LifeⓇ inspiration. Today, I am sharing a week in the life using mostly Market Street along with a touch of the Record It! Charmed Collection.

I am finding that the Charmed Collection is the perfect accessory. I mean, what doesn’t need a pop of extra gold? And Market Street is the ultimate companion for it.

I kicked off my inspiration for this layout with that striped “A Week in the Life” card. Oh stripes, how I love thee. With that in place, I knew I needed something with a little less color. That’s when I pulled out Record it! Charmed journaling kit and found the perfect fit for a title card.

The green striped paper has been calling my name since I first laid eyes on it. Like I said, stripes are my thing right now. I trimmed down a 4x6 piece for some added interest along with some short journaling.

The decorative tape was a nice added touch over my picture. I finished it off with an enamel dot that I easily separated from a decorative brad.

The weather actually gave us a little break from the extreme cold and snow, which was great for letting my kids actually get outside to play! The “Happy Days are Here” banner was just meant to be for that open space on that photo.

Product Spotlight | Record It! Charmed

Happy Friday My Mind's Eye fans! Tonya here to share a classic card set with you today. What makes this set special is that it was all made using the Record It Charmed collection. The cards in the set measure 3x4". A little smaller than the standard card, but there are two things that make this size so special. The first is that using the 6x6 paper pad makes envelopes that are just the right size without having to trim the paper first. The second reason is because the card base is the exact same dimensions as the 3x4" cards in the journaling set.

It was a little too challenging to get a decent photograph of all eight cards in this set together so I have broken the photos into two groups of four. Here is the first set.

Supplies: Record It-Charmed: 6x6 decorative paper pad, journaling kit, decorative tape, enamel dots

Each card in this set started with one of the 3x4 cards from the journaling set and then they were embellished with enamel dots, decorative tape and some glittered die cut hearts.

For the mustache card I just added one little glittered heart and a little enamel dot. For the second card I added some decorative tape with the arrows pointing down to the word 'love' and then added another small glittered heart and enamel dot.

For the black hearts above I die cut the heart out of the gold chevron card and then backed them with black glitter.

For the above card on the left I added a larger gold glittered heart and the word 'love' with the gold stripes was cut from one of the other 3x4 cards. For the card on the right, I die cut a heart out of the 3x4 card and added decorative tape behind it, the 3x4 card was then popped up with dimensional foam.

 

These two were simple to put together. Just added some tape, some more glitter hearts, and those enamel dots we all love so much! (Especially the glitter gold ones!)

Above are the matching envelopes. I made mine using the We R Memory Makers envelope punch board, or you could easily use an electronic die cut machine.

All of these cards were so super easy and simple to put together. The gold and black make them so classic and timeless. Not to mention the fact that this is the perfect way to put all of those 3x4 cards to use for those of us that do not partake in some form of daily life documenting!

We've been noticing (and pinning!) Tanya's intricate and detailed projects for quite some time, so we were thrilled when she agreed to join us for the month of March.

Here's a little bit about Tanya, in her own words.

Hi dear crafters! My name is Tanya.I live in Ukraine. In scrapbooking I came  3 years ago.I love to create all types of projects :) Cards, mini albums, layouts, altered creations, notebooks and so on. My main inspiration is paper! Also I love to create with chipboards, lace, buttons, flair buttons, letters, fabrics.. Q | What is your favorite MME collection of all time and why?

 

A | One of my favorite collections is Lost and Found...this collection has such a sweet palette..and a special energy. Relaxing, comfortable, and vintage.

 

Q | What did you have the most fun working with as guest designer? why?

 

A | Oh, good question! And a very difficult one...each collection is very special and they are very different. In each of them I founded adorable details. Record It- Charmed is totally amazing and something very very new in scrapbooking. The patterns are so simple and so stylish!  The cards for journaling are also very very interesting and perfect for PL projects.  

 

In Record It- Pretty Things I loved the  journaling cards also and floral prints with beautiful signs ...they give a possibility to make very special and extraordinary projects. And finally, the Now & Then collection has so many perfect embelishments..I even can`t to choose my fave. They all can be a part of great creation.

 

Oh goodness are we ever in love with what Tanya created. Her work has a romantic, ethereal feeling and we just adore everything she comes up with.

Don't Get Pinched - Scrap Green!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!  In honor of this Irish holiday, I decided to create a green layout.  Usually green is a pretty tough color for me to scrap.  I dug through some of the new collections and came up with a variety of different greens to use on this design.

 

I decided to use some summer pool photos to make this even more of a challenge.  I started with one of the new Record It “Charmed” Word Art pieces.  I decided to cut the word “charm” out and use that as part of my title.  I love the font, and it went perfectly with the St. Patty’s theme even though my layout isn’t about that at all. 

 

Next, I dug into the Now & Then Milo collection and found a green & white polka dotted paper (“Inspired” Forest).  From there, I layered in many other green pieces.  I decided to tie in gold as well, which reminds me of the pot at the end of the rainbow.

The Record It Journaling Card Kits are amazing!  I like to use these on layouts, and this one with the cut out hearts was perfect.  I backed it with green paper.  I added some blue decorative tape, some cord and a small piece from the Milo Decorative Brads topped with a gold enamel dot. 

 

The fussy cut title is my favorite part of this page!  I went over the gold with some gold glitter paint for some added sparkle, and then added in some tangled gold thread.  You can see how I also used gesso to create a faded look around the photos and papers.  I think doing this with a busy background helps the design pop and not be too distracting.  And plus it’s fun to get messy and create a not-so-perfect look!  Part of scrapping is making it look homemade, right? 

 

More gold pieces!  These chipboard shapes are from the Now & Then Mildred line.  I added more gold glitter paint inside the oval frame and then layered the heart on top of it.  Some tangled thread finishes it off.

Charmed Album

Hi! Tina here today with another Sn@p Binder project, using one of the new Record It collections, Charmed.

I fell in love with the Record It collections when I created my first Sn@p Binder, A Day in the Life (of a dog), so I knew I had to create another when I saw the new collections.

The Charmed collection includes one of my favorite, go-to color combinations, gold, white, and black. I am seriously addicted to anything gold, and this was a perfect collection to fulfill my obsession.

 

Just like with my original binder, I embellished the 3x4 and 4x6 journal cards with glitter, tape, and digitally cut images from black cardstock.

The patterns on the journal cards were so fantastic, not much embellishing was needed.

And the Charmed enamel dots?? Oh my word...LOVE THESE! I used almost the entire pack in my binder.


Instead of embellishing all of the 6x8 paper inserts with product, I typed 2 favorite dog quotes. These are great for journaling and sharing your thoughts and wishes.

Lastly, I wanted to get my mixed media on, so I covered each chipboard insert with super heavy gesso, then painted them with water color paints and sprays. I really love how they compliment the colors of the collection, but added my own personal touch to the binder.
