Q:What is your favorite MME collection of all time? Why?

A:How do you ever pick just one favorite? I have been a fan of MME ever since I got my hands on the original Asparagus line. Since then, my color choices have adjusted a bit more towards the brighter and more vibrant colors, and MME has always supplied me with plenty of that.

I guess I would have to pick I would say that Lime Twist would top my list now, but I reserve the right to change my mind. Those bright vibrant colors and playful patterns are just too perfect for all my little munchkins’ pages. And of course how could I not love the amazing twine addition to that line!

 

Q:What is the one MME item you find yourself reaching for over and over?

A:The one thing I have always grabbed for are brads, and MME brads are no exception. 
I love the variety of colors, patterns, and sizes in each package. '

Although...I do have to say that with the addition of their decorative tapes, I find myself shuffling through my rolls to find the perfect one to tape up my favorite pictures.

 

Q: What is your favorite thing about designing for MME?

A: My favorite thing about designing for MME is the amazing product and the opportunity to share my creativity with everyone here!

I love that MME is always adding fun new embellies with each line. From rhinestones, to twine, to labels, to decorative tapes and now the new doilies & enamel dots, they just keep the fun coming. I am just so lucky now to be able to share my love for creating and recording memories with everyone on the blog each month.

 

Q:If you could design a MME collection what would it be called and what would it contain?

A:Oh my, what a loaded question! I have to say that I am a total B-Side scrapper, so my line would have to have lots and lots of tone-on-tone dots, circles, stripes, chevrons, woodgrains and more...all with vivid colors.

The other side would have to be a nice neutral of creams, browns, and grays in those same tone-on-tone patterns. Yep, gotta love my tone-on-tones! As for a name… well, my husband is chanting “Shelly Chic! It’s got to be Shelly Chic. AND it even rhymes.” Yep, he is mine!!! :)

 

Q:If you could wallpaper a room in your home with one MME paper what would it be?

A:Oh easy! After just receiving The Sweetest Thing line, I would say the b-side of Honey’s Simply Lovely Doily paper. That clean classic tone-on-tone chevron would be amazing on my walls. Oh, and I would also have to add a few throw pillows with Tangerine’s Together Chevron paper and Happy Woodsy paper too!

Meet Tina!

Welcome to the second installment of our "Meet the DT" series! Today we are learning a little bit more about Tina Walker. :)

Q: What are your three favorite MME projects of all time and why?

The minute I saw this paper, I knew I had to create with it.  I already had the photo in mind and when I put the two together, voila - it was magic! 

They were perfect for each other.  Another reason I really love this layout is that the paper has a built in title.  I replicated the title for my layout.  I was also able to use some of my other favorite MME paper from 'Follow Your Heart' and 'Miss Caroline' to make the great little pinwheel circle, which was so fun and perfect for this project.


I love this layout because of the simple title, 'Enjoy Life'.  It's a feeling and philosophy I try to embrace every day.  The photo is such a typical 'self portrait' of myself.  Often times, when I'm in the car, sitting at red-lights, I often pull out my phone and start taking goofy pictures of myself.  It is just  small thing I do to try to embrace the everyday.

The second reason I really love this layout is the paper.  When 'Kraft Funday' first came out, I was like "OH My Gosh, I need EVERYTHING in that collection!".  I love the unique look and design of the collection which is why I instantly fell in love with it. 
This not only includes my all time favorite MME collection, but it includes my all time favorite holiday, Halloween.  When I created this last fall, it quickly became my favorite shadowbox .  MME always creates great fall/Halloween collections, but I really love the whimsy and retro feel of Mischievous.  I love creating shadowboxes, and this collection was perfect for the look I was going for.

Q: What is your favorite MME collection of all time? Why?

A:My favorite MME collection of all time is 'Mischievous'.  Halloween is my absolute favorite holiday EVER, so this makes perfect sense.  When Halloween comes, I don't hold back with decorations and fun little crafts.    I decorate my house more for Halloween than any other holiday.  'Mischievous' is so great, because it has the typical, standard Halloween colors of orange and black, but it also has a light baby blue, which is so amazing with the other colors in the collection.  I also completely adore the little pumpkins and witch that are part of the collection.  They are SO whimsical and cute!

Q: What is one MME item you find yourself reaching for over and over?

A:I constantly reach for MME chipboard embellishments.  I frequently double up on chipboard embellishment sheets for each collection, because I like to re-use them on separate projects.  They are so versatile and can  be intermixed between collections, so you can always create a new and different looks with them.  They are my absolute favorite item in each collection.

Q:What is your favorite thing about designing for MME?

A: The amazing product.  Sounds like a pre-recorded answer, doesn't it?  But is absolutely true!  The paper quality and the paper design are one of the best in the industry.  I also love that they are always creating fresh and new looks but still keep the 'MME design' principles in place.  Fantastic color palettes, fantastic new embellishments, and fantastic product!

Q:If you could design a MME collection what would it be called and what would it contain?

A:Hmmm..that is a really tough question.  I am a design chameleon, so my favorite look or color is constantly changing.  Some days I love clean and simple, and other days I love grungy and eclectic.  So if I had to create just ONE collection, and that collection was created TODAY, I would design a collection that would be bright yet muted at the same time (does that make sense?).  It would have lots of greens, oranges, and whites, with a little kraft thrown in.

I generally like color, but am normally drawn to the more muted, subtle colors.  {think white wash}.  If you could combine 'Follow Your Heart' (with the white theme), with 'Indie Chic' (oranges, greens, blues), and with a little retro (think 1970's), that would be my type of collection.  The design elements would include funkadelic and psychedelic patterns, with 'flower power' flowers and themes.  I would call it 'Retro Renovation' or 'Stuck in the 70s'.  :)

Q:If you could wallpaper a room in your home with one MME paper, what would it be?

A:It would be any of the papers in the 'Follow Your Heart' Be Amazing collection.  I could see ANY of the papers up on a wall, even the ones with honeycomb and stripe patterns.  I love the subtleness of the color palette, as well as the timeless design.  My favorite would be 'Societe', and I could see this on my bedroom wall.

1. What is your favorite MME collection of all time? Why?

 

I honestly couldn't get enough of the Stella & Rose collection (and I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a Stella & Rose 2). I loved that it had bright, happy colors,that were muted a bit with a vintage, distressed feel. I loved the pattern and font choices. I loved all of the delicious embellishments included in this collection: the layered chipboard elements, dimensional stickers, trims, decorative brads, and the button cards (too cute for words!). I couldn't stop reaching for this collection and the multiple Stella & Rose layouts in my scrapbooks prove it! I have hoarded every last piece of this collection and I'm not sharing! LOL!

 

 

2. What is one MME item you find  yourself reaching for over and over?

 

Oh, gosh! Just one?! Sigh. I guess I would say the decorative brads. Buttons are usually my first embellishment choice for a layout, but I gotta say . . . the decorative brads by My Mind's Eye have made me fall in love with brads all over again!

 

  

3. What is your favorite thing about designing for MME?

 

My most favorite thing about designing for My Mind's Eye is the variety of styles in their paper collections. Each collection is an instant classic that I know will look gorgeous in my scrapbooks for years and years to come, but each of them also have their own personality. One collection will have a vintage appeal, while the next will be sprinkled with bright colors and playful elements. Every time the new collections are revealed it's like a scrapbooker's Christmas morning dream. You never know what you're going to get, but you know that you are going to love every single bit of it! My Mind's Eye has something for everyone!

 

 

4. If you could design a MME collection what would it be called and what would it contain?

 

 I love the feel of small towns that are full of history and charm. You know the ones . . . with darling houses surrounded by porches, picket fences, large mature trees, and 100's of beautiful flowers lining the walkways. One of those big trees probably has a tire swing on it, too. The name might be something like the Front Porch collection and include lots of medium-bright candy colors . . . strawberry red, aqua, orange, yellow, pink and a kelly green. The patterns would include basics like ledger, woodgrain, text, polka dot, stripes, and lots of tone-on-tone patterns. A little bit of kraft paper mixed in could be fun, too. I would also like to see some quilt-inspired patterns and patterns inspired by vintage embroidered tea towels and samplers. I would probably add a few friendly critters (like birds, butterflies and squirrels) in there for good measure. :) There would definitely be layered chipboard elements, dimensional stickers, label stickers, buttons, brads, and lots of journaling spots . . . all of the My Mind's Eye classics. I would also have to include baker's twine in fun colors, maybe two colors entwined like the colors of old-fashioned stick candy.

 

 

5. If you could wallpaper a room in your home with one MME paper, what would it be?

 

What a fun question! I would have to pick something from the Lost & Found 2 Sunshine collection . . . I'm thinking either side of the Adore paper would work so well in so many areas of my home. Love it!

THANKFUL by Jana Eubank

I'm not a huge journaler. Infact, most of the time I limit my journaling to the size of whichever journal spot I decide to use on my page. For this page, I decided to step out of my comfort zone and make a page design that focused on the journaling. It totally stressed me out, but I was happy when it came together successfully. I felt like I had conquered something that I had been afraid to try.

I love this page, because I just had so much fun making it! I love the bright colors of the Alphabet Soup Boy collection and had a great time making water waves from the woodgrain patterned paper.

YOU & ME by Jana Eubank

I love this page because it features my favorite My Mind's Eye collection ever . . . the Stella & Rose Mabel collection. I usually am ready to move past a collection after creating a few pages with a collection, but this one kept calling my name over and over. I used everything I loved about this collection on this particular page. The woodgrain paper, the text paper, the delicious layered chipboard elements and dimensional stickers . . . not to mention that awesome zipper trim  and the decorative brads. I also loved the silly photos of me and my daughter on this page. They aren't the greatest quality, but they captured a memory of my daughter and I hanging out together.

One last thing...will you please share a photo of your scrap space?
