Such pretty colors in this inspiration photo and Cut & Paste Charm was perfect for it.

I am loving the pockets of sequins that are showing up in different projects so I created one using a glassine envelope, some sequins and punched paper.

Such a fun color palette for this challenge! These are colors that I typically wouldn't pull out to use. I'm usually more drawn to cooler  and brighter colors.

There was definitely something about it though because right before this image was sent to me for this challenge I had recently pinned it to my own color combo board! I think it was the warmth and the softness of the colors that piqued my interest.

I used mist on the sun to work in the majority of the orange.  The word 'jumping' was outlined with silver to add just a bit more of the grey tones. The rest of the layout was topped off with bits and pieces from varying collections.

Hi!  Tina here today with my take on the December Color Challenge!  I LOVE the color challenge this month and I knew the perfect collection for creating, the new Lost & Found- Record It Antique range!

I wanted to create a project perfect for the Holidays, so I created a home decor frame that can be displayed throughout the season!

Frame: IKEA Embossing Powder:  Lindy's Embossing Ink:  Watermark Twine:  Etsy Adhesive:  Scor Tape, Imaginese (foam tape) Cardstock:  American Crafts Die Cut Machine:  Silhouette Cameo Clip:  Tim Holtz


I used a 6x6 sheet from the paper pad, cut down to size, then layered a Lost & Found pocket on top of a journal card for a simple, yet elegant look.  I die-cut my sentiment and added a couple of stars for glitz and glamour!

Another special tip:  Want to dress up a plain photo mat?  Try embossing it with a simple patterned stamp and coordinating embossing powder.  The look is subtle, but so much more than a plain photo mat.

Hi, everyone! This is Missy.

 

I was very happy to get to play with this month’s Color Inspiration piece!  As soon as I saw it, I knew that the Lost & Found Record It “Antique” collection would be perfect.  The colors are a great match. 

 

I was also inspired by the shimmery glittery table cloth and the black & white stripes in the woman’s skirt.  This collection is full of glitter, so I had to sort through and decide which pieces to use.  I also incorporated some Chalk Studio pieces and a few more other bits from other collections.

 

I decided to scrap a silly photo of my husband and me in the car.  He was on the phone and I was bored, so I took out my phone and just started taking goofy pictures.  He was in the middle of a serious conversation and I decided to photobomb him…and it turned out completely funny!  This is how most of our “romantic” dates go these days…haha!

 

I started with some washi tape from the Lost & Found collection and some gesso.  I used one of the cute frame stamps from the Cut & Paste collection as well as an older stamp from the Collectable line.  I used a template and some modeling paste to create some texture on my background.  I then layered some patterned papers underneath my photo.  I went for the bits & pieces next…finding various embellishments to place around the photo.

I love the silver glitter…it gets everywhere, and I’m okay with that!  I like that it’s scattered over my page.  This big chipboard “Bliss” is one of my favorite pieces, and it was perfect for this page.

 

Here you can see a lot of the texture and layers I created.  Building layers is a great way to add interest and depth to your pages.  I really love the “This is how we roll” layered sticker…it suits us to a tee!  And I love that the stripes on it mimic the stripes in the inspiration photo.

 

 

I hope you’re inspired by this color scheme…it’s great for just about any type of photo.  The embellishments are what make it unique!

Tonya says:I LOVED this inspiration piece!!!! There wasn't one thing about it that wasn't right up my alley! The first thing that caught my eye was the color scheme. Then I started to notice all of the little details that I wanted tobring into my project.

For example I really wanted to use black glitter, pinks with an ombre effect, chevrons, little holes made with a paper piercer, chalk effects and some woodgrain. I think I was able to utilize all of those things, except the chalk effects (the title was cut out of a chalkboard like piece of paper from the Chalk Studio collection, but it ended up looking like really dark grey paper).

Tamara says:I loved this color inspiration - the range of pinks mixed with the black and white chalk art!  I immediately thought of this sweet snapshot of my daughter when she was 4 months old (she is now 17!!).   I used the "Cut and Paste Flair" collection - it had all of the colors I was looking for and the baby picture went perfectly with the 4x6 chalk art Journal card: 'The Cutest Things are Small, Little Petite...". 

 I especially love the two toned pink paper that I used to mat the photo.  I cut the 6x6 black and white Chevron paper in half and cut out the pattern, then layered it to create a border to "anchor" the page and placed the layered chalk are frame over it.  I then embellished the page with the striped brad and two rows of the enamel dots.

Sparkle by Tamara

Tamara says:The fresh, bright colors of this color inspiration reminded me of a summer party.  I had just taken some pictures of my kids and their cousins playing with sparklers at our family 24th of July Celebration (also called Pioneer Day in Utah, commemorating the founding of our state on July 24, 1847). It is almost as big as the 4th of July around here, complete with BBQ's and parades, and fireworks.  I resized my photos into two "filmstrips" so I could easily fit 8 photos on my layout.

I wanted to capture the bursts of light emanating from the sparklers on my page.  I used red, blue, and yellow spray inks to echo the look of sparklers and a celebration.  I also hand cut the starburst shapes and the "24" out of the Collectable - Remarkable collection.  I used glitter glue to accent the letters, starbursts, title, and "24".

I used decorative tapes along the side of my page.  I used two strips of the yellow to create a wider chevron pattern. I layered the starbursts around my page to echo the sparklers.

Danni says:Good morning, Danni here with you today to share a card for this month's GORGEOUS color inspiration.  I love every last bit of this color inspiration piece and know that you too.  I chose to use the Find Your Wings and Fly line of gorgeous papers and embellies for this card, and I love how soft and beautiful the patterns are together.

I love to layer, however the patterns in this line are so beautiful I wanted them to showcase along with a fun chipboard and some enamel dots.  I can not wait to see what everyone will create with this gorgeous color inspiration.

Tina says: I love color inspiration challenges.  I love searching through my stash looking for just the perfect colors and design elements for a color inspiration challenge.  For my layout, I used product from all four Collectable ranges to complete my assignment.

Besides using the colors in the color inspiration photo(s), I also used design elements from the color inspiration photos: 
1.  Diagonal design from the dress,
2.  Round/Flower shaped elements from the cake and necklace, and
3.  Stacking/Layering from the green dishes.

To create the diagonal design, I started with a diagonal background patterned paper. (Super easy, huh?)  Next, I digitally cut a diagonal shape and layered all 3 colors behind the shape for a fun and interesting element. 

I used a large, oversized flower shape brad for my Round/Flower shape design element.  I couldn't find the perfect brad shape and colors, so I actually mixed 2 different brads from 2 separate Collectable collections to make my finished brad.

Lastly, I layered patterned paper, embellishments, and my title to finish my layout.

Tip:  I didn't want to repeat the same yellow patterned paper behind my die cut title, so I cut a section from the Tiny Word sticker sheet.  The color was exactly what I was looking for, so I sprayed a different shade of yellow and white mist to change the color of the stickers.  Perfect way to stretch my stash, yet still follow the Color Inspiration challenge.

Jana says:For my layout I was inspired to use the Stripes Paper. The diagonal pattern made the perfect base of my page because of the diagonal lines in the pattern of the dress. The yellow beaded necklace inspired the paper choice behind my favorite photo (the polka dots on the top left).

I decided to incorporate floral prints and a couple of floral accents on my page, because of the flowers on the hat and cake. The chipboard shape even reminds me of the shape of the flowers on top of the pink hat.

Finally, I loved the texture the netting added to the hat in the photo and decided to use that as inspiration to add machine stitched details to my page.

Tonya says: Wow! Did I love this color inspiration piece! The colors are right up my alley. As soon as I saw the inspiration photo I knew exactly which photo I was going to center my layout around. Could the color of my daughter's shirt be any more perfect?!

In order to achieve this color palette I pulled product from three different lines: Collectable-Memorable, The Sweetest Thing-Tangerine, and Find Your Wings-Up and Away. These all help to not only fulfill the color scheme but also the feminine and frilly feel of the inspiration photos!
