It's time for Freaky Friday on the MME blog! We've asked two designers to completely switch styles for the day.
It's always fun to see what they come up with- this is one of our favorite features here at the MME blog!
This month Tina and Valerie are swapping styles. Here's what they came up with!
Valerie
Tina is such a talented scrapper and mixed media artist! I wasn’t ambitious enough to attempt her mixed media style this time and just took inspiration from her more basic layouts. Her layouts often feature her adorable dogs, so I thought it would be fitting to make a layout using photos of my dog too. He’s way overdue for being the star of a layout anyway.
Supplies:My Mind’s Eye Jubilee Tangerine: “Fantastic” chipboard elements, “Awesome” Shield paper, “Honor” Traveler paper, “Adventure” Charming paper, “Awesome" mixed bag, “Adventure” flair, and “Awesome” enamel dots. Other: white cardstock & white alpha stickers.
Tina often arranges perfect little embellishment clusters on her layouts and wraps some twine around the bottom, so I gave it a try.
And to balance out the bottom-heavy layout, I added another embellishment cluster in the upper right corner.
It was challenging and fun to switch it up and try scrapping like someone else. I definitely layered a little more, stepped away from the grid, and added more embellishments than usual, I think.

I love participating in Freaky Friday and I love the challenge of sharing inspiration from a fellow Design Team member. Today, I am inspired by the wonderfully talented Valerie O'Neall. I have always been a fan of Valerie's style and I am super excited to share my layout with you today.
The first thing I do, is to look at several of my Freaky Friday partner's layouts. I try to find similarities and design trademarks. Valerie has a great style and here's what I spied as her design style.
1. White Cardstock
2. Large, digitally cut titles
3. Small pops of color and pattern
4. Multiple photos
Using these as my starting point, I created this layout.
Supplies: Just Sayin: Glittered Papers, Mixed Bag, Enamel Dots, Alpha/Word Stickers; Misc:Cardstock: American Crafts Adhesive: Tombow Die Cut Machine: Silhouette Cameo
I love using white cardstock as a base for layouts, so this was an easy task. I die cut a large title, backing it with a solid patterned paper.
Using our fabulous enamel dots and mixed bag die cuts, I added pops of color and pattern. I generally scrap with 1 photo, but using her multiple photo style, I printed the same photo and repeated it throughout my layout. Love this look!
I really enjoyed scrapping in this Clean and Simple manner. It is a complete opposite to my mixed media and artsy style.
Thank you Valerie for your amazing inspiration!
