Happy Monday, MME fans! Missy here with you today. Every time MME releases a new collection, I always think it can’t be topped. I always say, “This one is my favorite!” Well, that has happened again with this new line Jubilee. I’m pretty sure it’s my new favorite. It’s so full of bright colors and bold patterns. It’s just so much fun to work with! I worked with the Wild Berry range, and this background paper was just begging me to throw some gesso and watercolors onto it! It instantly inspired me, so I went for it.
I love the challenge of starting with a busy background. I start with gesso to give it a faded look, and this also makes the watercolor “stick” to the paper better. I like how you can still see the pattern, but it’s not as busy and bold. This allows for the photo and embellishments to shine.
Supplies: Jubliee Wild Berry “Today” Sketch Paper, “Love” Stamped Paper, 6x6 Paper Pad, Chipboard Elements, “Hey You” Journal Cards, “Life” Mixed Bag, “Love” Label Stickers, “Today” Enamel Shapes, “Wonder” Sticky Notes, “Love” Decorative Brads, “Life” Enamel Dots, “Today” Flair Pins; Cut & Paste Presh Decorative Tapes; Necessities Black/Gray Decorative Tapes; Liquitext Gesso, Watercolors, Stampabilities Ink, Pop Dots, Cardstock, Cord, Thread, Black Sharpie Pen, India Ink.
I used a combo of the die cuts and chipboard pieces to layer under the photo. Here you can also see the “grit” that the gesso gives the paper. It creates a great texture. I also used a few of the cute white frames that come in the Journal Cards pack. They’re great for layering, also. I’m so glad this line has flair pins! Eeeek!! One of my faves, for sure.
If you love embellishments with the days of the week on them, then this collection is definitely for you. There is a whole pack of Sticky Notes with each day, and you just peel and stick! There are also brads, enamel shapes (and dots!) and chipboard buttons! Sooooo much to choose from.
Here I used another flair pin, a few stickers, another die cut, and a cute enamel diamond. I love that the title I used refers to my sweet pea as a “gem,” and there are little gem pieces! It doesn’t get any cuter than that.
This collection is a lot of fun. I sure hope this gives you some ideas of what you can create with it. It really is a dream to work with!
Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!
