Hello there and Happy August! Missy here today to share a fun layout featuring the beautiful Market Street collections. I have always been a 12x12 scrapbooker. Even though I don’t do pocket pages or Project Life, that doesn’t mean I don’t love those small cards that are used for it. The last several MME collections have had 3x4 and 4x6 Journaling Cards in them, and I challenged myself to create a 12x12 layout using ONLY the small cards from the Ashbury Hill line. It was actually very easy because they served as my patterned paper. Once I decided on where to place my photos, I pulled lots of fun embellishments from the Ashbury Heights and Nob Hill lines. Here is what I created.
Supplies: Market Street Ashbury Heights: 3x4 Journaling Cards, Mixed Bag, Label Stickers, Chipboard Elements, Decorative Brads, Chipboard Buttons; Nob Hill: Mixed Bag, Label Stickers, Decorative Tapes, Decorative Brads, Chipboard Buttons, Flair Pins; Necessities: Metallic Decorative Tapes, Metallic Metal Shapes; Other: cardstock, Stampendous Ink, Golden Modeling Paste, Crafter’s Workshop Template, thread, Sharpie pen, black thread, Amy Tangerine date stamp.
I love that so many of the cards have fun sentiments on them. I decided not to give my layout a big title since there were so many fun sayings scattered all over the page. I raised my photos up so I could layer chipboard, thread and stickers underneath. The cards also leave room for journaling. I strategically placed them so my photos wouldn’t cover up and words, and then the one I journaled on had plenty of space for writing.
I know I sound like a broken record, but I can’t get enough of the shiny gold pieces in these collections! I layered this fun gold piece with some chipboard pieces and added a fun brad.
I used some of the metallic shapes (the arrows) here as well as some chipboard buttons and sentiment stickers. I think one of my favorite parts of this layout is the strip of metallic tape at the very bottom. It’s a rose color, and it is SO gorgeous once you adhere it to your page! I just wanted to stick it everywhere, but I restrained myself…haha!
I hope this gives you some ideas on how to use those 3x4 cards on a regular layout. Just pick your favorite ones and cover up the entire background. It’s a fun way to get lots of color spread around the page as well as give you lots of fun little titles. I had so much fun creating this one!
Thanks for stopping by today!
