Hi everyone!
This is Karen and I am back with my first Mixed Media page of 2014. This month's page is one of the assignments I never did for last year's One Little Word prompt. This assignment was to make an art journaling page and use it to reflect upon your word. Instead of berating myself for not doing the homework when it was due, I decided it's always better late than never and sat to make my page.
The first thing I did was to put a few chipboard pieces down from Lost and Found record it! and Cupid's Arrow (I love love love the hearts that came with this line.) I then added a border on my page with the decorative tape.
It's hard to see the shine when I take the photo straight-on so here it is from an angle:
I then added the word "present," my word for 2013, to the heart and a few more stickers to spell out my title: be present today and every day. I also hand-drew lines so I could journal all over the page. Here's a look:
Then I added a whole bunch of paint, stitched the border and I was done:
Here's one from a better angle so you can see the gold paint:
And there we are. A relatively simple page but still shiny and makes me happy. I would love to see some of your recent mixed media pages, too. I hope you share them!
Have a happy January!!
