 We are THRILLED to welcome these four talented designers to the MME family.

We have big plans for the next year on this blog. We have watched these four designers create with MME and love MME for quite some time now. Please help us welcome these lovely ladies!

 

Laurel Seabrook

Laurel here and I am so excited to be joining the My Mind's Eye team!  I couldn't believe when I got that email from Stephanie nor could I respond fast enough!  I love MME products and the range of styles that they offer.  I am so looking forward to this upcoming year.  I am very fortunate to be a part of some amazing Design Teams and am grateful for all that this paper crafting industry has blessed me with.  I am married with two girls, teach grade one but my end of the day wind down is definitely my crafting.

 Valerie O'Neall

I have always been that athletic, quiet, creative, artsy girl. You know—the one who was yearbook editor, co-president of the art club, and on the varsity volleyball team? My first scrapbook was made after an eighth grade trip to Washington D.C. (in the 90's). I guess I really dove into the hobby after marrying and settling down with my high school sweetheart in 2004.

When our son Lucas was born, he was thrilled to see layouts of our cute little dog cease. Our son is four now, and is the best foster brother to the sweet baby girl who has temporarily joined our family. My day job consists of SAHM and occasional freelance graphic designer. Thanks to that high school and college art background, there isn't a medium I'm afraid to use. I might even be a bit of an art supply hoarder. I'm so happy to be here and can't wait to work alongside these talented gals!

Missy Whidden

I’m Missy Whidden, and I live in Florida with my husband Marshall and two beautiful daughters.  I fell in love with scrapbooking about seven years ago, just before my first daughter was born.  I helped my mother-in-law create a baby scrapbook for my husband, and I was instantly hooked.  It has since become my daily therapy.  My favorite things are patterned paper, paints and mists, stencils, buttons and my Cameo.  I love getting messy with my projects, but I also like to create a clean look as well.

When I’m not scrapping, you can find me teaching Spinning and Body Pump at the gym…my second form of therapy J  I am beyond ecstatic to be joining this amazing team of designers!  It really is a dream come true, and I am still recovering from the aftershocks of the news.  I look forward to working with the gorgeous MME products and hopefully inspiring other scrappers to create something awesome!  Thank you so much for having me!

Stephanie Bryan

I'm Stephanie and I live in North Carolina with my husband and two adorable children. I love all things creative and have a slight obsession with paper and photography.  It's safe to say that I play with paper way more than any adult should!!   I started out with memory keeping through Project Life in 2011 and have not looked back yet. My style is simple, but classic with occasional fun pops of color.

As of January this year, I found a love of recording memories through traditional scrapbooking after taking a class at Studio Calico. I currently serve on the Design Teams for Glitz Design, Chic Tags, Elle's Studio, Jot Magazine, write.click.scrapbook, Gossamer Blue and Color Combos Galore. I am so excited to add My Mind's Eye to this amazing list and consider myself so blessed to be a part of the wonderful team at MME.

Cut & Paste Charm with Tonya

Hi everybody! Tonya here today to share with you a layout using the new Cut & Paste-Charm.

About four years ago my husband and my father in law headed out in the motor home to go back to North Dakota for a visit to the family farm. They took my two oldest boys with them. This little expedition has become a yearly ritual and now that my third son is old enough he has also gets to go with them. That leaves my daughter and I at home...ALONE...for about 10 days (not a bad thing if you ask me!). It's a great time for them, they fish, they work the farm, they pheasant hunt...male bonding at it's finest!

Every year I beg my husband to get a few photos and this year he finally pulled through for me!

Supplies: Cut & Paste-Charm: Smile "Twinkle" Paper, Bliss "Delight" Paper, Bliss 5x7 Sticker Sheet, Enamel Shapes, Enamel Dots, Decorative Brads, Sweet Tiny Word Stickers, Hey You Decorative Buttons.

As you can see I took the arrow stickers and popped them up with some foam tape and then decorated the edges of that awesome cloud paper with the buttoms and enamel dots.

I also thought I would share with you a card that I made using the decorative tapes from this same line. I absolutley adore the tape set for this collection and am really happy with the way this card turned out!

August Challenge Time!

Happy Thursday and Happy AUGUST MME fans! Can you believe it's already AUGUST? Wow!

You know what a new month means, right? A new challenge! And our August challenge is lots of fun. We are asking you to document your summer. A summer recap is what we are looking for!

What have you done the past few months? I'm in Italy and school does not start here for another month. But I have plenty of friends in America and some of them have kiddos that start school in the next couple of weeks.

If you are in Australia you are experiencing winter. Feel free to alter this challenge to meet your needs!

As always...you are welcome to interpret this challenge however you'd like. The sky is the limit. Just make sure that I can tell it somehow fits the topic.

The rules are as follows:

1. You can submit a layout,card,album,altered item,etc.

2. The project must consist of mainly MME. It must "look" like a MME project. :) It must fit the theme.

3. The project must be created new for this challenge. You may only submit one project.

4. Upload the project to the InLinkz link tool at the end of this post by the end of the day on Tuesday, August 13.

5. A random winner will be chosen and announced with the second August challenge on August 14. The prize is any MME collection- the choice is yours.

I challenged Tamara to join in on this challenge and here is what she came up with!

Supplies: Find Your Wings and Fly "Up and Away": Krafty Floral patterned paper, Be Awesome patterned paper, stickers, chipboard, enamel dots, brads, alpha/word stickers: Find Your Wings and Fly "Sky's the Limit": Layered Ephemera patterned paper, enamel dots; Misc: Black ink, pen and thread, blue ink spray

Tamara says: I'm so excited to share this layout highlighting our summer thus far.  We are only 2/3 of the way through and I was amazed by the lengthy list our family made.  We don't have the budget/time for a big family vacation, and I admit I was feeling like we've had a dull summer. But going through our photos and focusing on the fun events we've experienced have really helped me realize what a fabulous summer we've already had!

The fresh and summery colors of the "Find Your Wings and Fly" collection were perfect for this page.   I resized my photos to 2" (in height or width), then it was easy to arrange them in a collage.  I layered the chipboard, stickers, and letters for my title. I used enamel dots as "bullets" for our list.

I cut out the blue chevron paper and layered stickers with brads to anchor the bottom of my layout. Machine stitching added definition to edges of the papers.

I invite you to take time to write down the highlights of your summer and create a layout with all the photos you've been taking.  And if you have forgotten to snap some photos, you still have a month of summer left! :)
