Hi there! It’s
Ronda here with you today bringing you the June Sketch! Have you
notice the arrow trend? Well this sketch keeps you right on track with
arrows all around.
On the sketch you will find three stamped arrows which you can interpret any way you wish. Layers of patterned paper on the center of the background creates a nice mat for the two photos. Add in some brads, enamel dots, and paint splatters and this sketch is complete.
Supplies: Find Your Wings and Fly-Sky’s the Limit : ‘Labeled’ paper, ‘Tiled’ paper; Find Your Wings and Fly-Up and Away: ‘Krafty Floral’ paper, decorative brads, layered stickers, enamel dots, decorative tapes, decorative stamps, alpha & word stickers; Misc: gesso, watercolors, acrylic paint, Ranger black ink, black pen
I always want to remember these days. The first photo is our engagement photo and the second is the reception after our wedding. Almost 20 years later and I know we will always be together. I started this layout by layering on the patterned paper and then applying a wash of gesso. After it was dry I added in some watercolors and let them drip down my page. I sprinkled some black watercolor paint on my page to create the splatters.
I
then added my photos to the background and started adding in
embellishments like the layered sticker.
I stamped some arrows around the page along with a few other images.
Arrows even show up on the brads, layered stickers, and washi tape!
Did
you notice I didn’t trim the title off the patterned paper? I love the
way the type looks underneath
the gesso & watercolors. I stamped another arrow here and added in
some gesso arrows using a stencil. The enamel dots are perfect little
accents of colors for my page.
While I had the black watercolor paint out, I decided to paint on my title. You can start with a penciled in word and then cover it with the paint. I used a waterproof black pen to draw some lines underneath my journaling. I really like how they make the journaling stand out.
I hope you have fun taking on the trending arrows in this month’s challenge. I cannot wait to see your creations!
