Hi! Will you be mine? That's one of my favorite Valentine's Day sentiments each year. Do you have a favorite Valentine's sentiment, one you that you consider your go-to sentiment?
Today I am going to share cards using
ONE sentiment three different ways. Sometimes it's hard to find time to
create several different designs, all with different sentiments, during
holidays, so I thought it would be fun to share three different card
designs using one sentiment.
On my first card, "be mine
banner", I wanted to create a banner using some of the newest designer
tapes released at Winter CHA. You will LOVE these colors and patterns,
they are bold and fresh! I chose to use my Cameo to cut the "Banner
Hearts" by Lori Whitlock and the "Be Mine Title Single Fold Square Card"
by Jamie. I love these two Cameo cuts so much and wanted to
incorporate them on a Valentine card this year. I wanted to use white
card stock so as to bounce the fun colors and patterns in the tapes and
enamel dots.
Supplies:
Collectable:Journey patterned paper,'Unforgettable' decorative tape,'I'm
With' enamel dots;Decorative Tape Sets: Red & Turquoise decorative
tape;Misc:Cameo, machine stitching, hand-stitching, white
cardstock
After adhering the banner to the designer tape
strips, I hand-stitched the banners and add an enamel dot to each to add
to the fun of the banner. I also decided the sentiment needed a couple
of little white hearts to pull the dimension, top to bottom, together.
On
my next card I decided to use the negative from the Cameo
cut and back it with some patterned paper. I added some hearts, stitches
and more enamel dots for another playful spin on the sentiment
Supplies:
Collectable:Journey patterned paper,'Unforgettable' 6 x 6
designer pad,'I'm With' enamel dots; Misc:Cameo, machine
stitching, hand-stitching, white cardstock
On
my last card, I thought there might be some that would like to play
with the sentiment that do not use a Cameo. So I did a little research
online to find these cute chalkboard sentiment downloads here: Chalkboard Printables,
To
create my block of "black patterned paper" I adhered strips of the
black designer tapes to a block of cardstock. I really like the look
of the patterns of black tapes and couldn't wait to adhere the
chalkboard sentiment. The sentiment looks so fun against the tapes and I
am going to try one of the chalkboard sentiments against the red tapes
next :)
