Tina says:Hi, today I'd like to share my layout for the monochromatic challenge. The definition of monochromatic is 'having or appearing to have one color or using/combining one color in several tones'.
For my layout, I used one of my favorite colors, blue, and the blues in the Indie Chic Nutmeg collection were perfect for this challenge.
The base of my page actually started with an experiment mistake. I had been trying out different cut designs with my die cut machine, and this cut pattern was originally intended to be used on another layout. I decided to not use the cut pattern for that layout, so I kept both the cut pattern and negative of the cut for future use.
When looking through my stash for blue paper and embellishments, I came upon this 'mistake' and had an idea. How about I use the negative pattern for the background of my monochromatic layout.
Using the flower pattern on the 'Family' Laurel Burst paper, I lined up the center of my negative opening with the center of a flower. Since my second negative opening was going to be covered with my title, I didn't worry about centering a flower in it.
I made several accordion flowers out of more blue patterned paper and clustered them with blue button, brads, and layered stickers throughout the page.
Because the background paper is in a neutral color, the blue doesn't become overwhelming, and allows the blue colors to pop off the page.
I hope you enjoyed my layout for the monochromatic challenge. I can't wait to see what you create!
We ALL can't wait to see what you create! If you need a reminder of the rules, here they are:
1. You can submit a layout,card,album,altered item,etc.
2. The project must consist of mainly MME. It must "look" like a MME layout. :) It must be monochromatic.
3. The project must be created new for this challenge.
4.Upload the layout to InLinkz at the end of this post by the end of the day on July 17.
5. A random winner will be chosen and announced with the second June challenge on July 18. The prize is any MME collection- the choice is yours.
Good Luck!!!
