Happy Monday everyone!
It's time for our April Challenge. We are mixing things up a bit. Challenges won't be based on a sketch every month. Sometimes they will be, sometimes they won't. Not to worry! We will be keeping things exciting with a mixture of old and new.
We have also heard that you all enjoy challenges and wish you could see more of them, so starting in May we will be posting challenges bi-weekly!
This month's challenge is posted a bit late (a week late, actually) due to the special festivites last week.
So what is the challenge?
We want to see your hexagons! That's right...hexagons. Those cute little six-sided shapes have been everywhere lately. You can find plenty of them in our Follow Your Heart collection!
So this month we want you to share any project (card, layout, altered item) that displays hexagons.
Here's what two of our designers came up with...
By Jana Eubank Supplies: Follow Your Heart "Be Amazing": Honey Blue paper,Be the Best paper ,Blue Doily paper,Geo Star paper,12 x 12 Chipboard,Button Card,Stamps; Lime Twist:Out of the Blue "Playful" Alphabet ;Kraft Cardstock,Dark Yellow Spray Mist,Gray Stamping Ink,Dark Brown Distress Ink,Black Journaling Pen,Needle and white embroidery floss,Paper Piercer, Trimmer,Adhesives
By Anam Stubbington Supplies:On the Bright Side “One” Paper Pack: Orange Wood paper, Yellow Chevron paper, Floral paper, ‘Polka’,Die-Cuts; Miss Caroline “Howdy Doody”: Buttons (Wood Flower); Miss Caroline “Fiddlesticks”: Buttons (Wood Round); Miss Caroline “Dilly Dally”: Buttons (Epoxy Round),Brads and Tags (Genuine Tag); Follow Your Heart “Be Amazing”: Twine, yellow sharpie, foam adhesive, distress tool
Are you all itching to use hexagons now? Good... it's your turn! Here are the rules.
1.Your project must look like a MME layout. Previous challenges have required you to use 80% MME and that's a good number to keep in mind. That means that if we look at your project, we will note that it uses mostly My Mind's Eye products. New,old...doesn't matter!
2. Your project must have hexagons prominently displayed. We shouldn't have to go searching for them. :)
All entries must be linked here (in the comments) by Friday, April 27- midnight EST. Make sure that the link you leave in the comments works. It can lead to an online gallery, Flickr, your blog, etc.
What's the prize? Any collection-your choice!!
A winner will be announced when the May challenge goes up.
The winner will be chosen randomly, but you may only be entered into the drawing if you follow all of the contest rules.
We can't wait to see what you do...have fun making something beautiful!
