Danni's Cards

Good Morning,  Danni  here with my first "official" post for MME.  

I wanted to thank you, ALL, for your incredibly sweet notes and encouragement.

I can not express, with mere words,  how you have touched my heart, thank you, thank you!

I would like to share with you some of the close-ups of the cards, individually, and share a quick and easy tutorial for the burlap heart used on one of the cards.

On the Sunny Side is such a fun new line filled with gorgeous blues, reds, oranges and the cuuuutest layered stickers and chipboard embellies.  I had so much fun dressing up the chipboard and layered embellies and it will be so much fun for summer.  I have a ton of ideas for this line and know you will too, it's happy, it's summery, it's perfect♥

 To begin creating this card, I punched 12 circles and adhered them using 3-D tape.  I stitched the sun's rays and punched a little heart and adhered.

I love the little bike basket, so many things could "peek out" of it.

Creating "moving cards", "welcome to the neighborhood cards", "miss you cards" etc. will be quick, fun and easy with these layered stickers. 

 I chose to create this sentiment on the computer so that I could use this for a summery any-occasion card.

  For this assortment of cards I chose to work with the Indie Chic Nutmeg papers and embellies.  This is "technically" a more masculine line with the embellies and such, but I loved the colors too much to stick with a masculine theme and decided to create feminine-themed cards.

I use my Silhouette Cameo a lot and will share which cut-files I use on my blog with my posts for MME.  Using the Cameo, I cut the circle background, adhering the pp and burlap behind the circles.

I created a quick tutorial on how to create the burlap heart (thank you for your very sweet notes about this embellie)

Some Exciting News

Today we are thrilled to announce that we have added two more designers to the MME team!

Please help us extend a warm welcome to Danni Reid and Tina Walker.

First up is Danni Reid. Danni caught our eye because of her amazingly beautiful cards. She really makes MME shine and we are over the moon to have a card designer on our team!

Hello! I am Danni Reid.  I live in N. California with my hubby (my best friend) and 4 babes.  I am a SAHM and when not bathing dishes, dancing with the vacuum and tackling laundry I can be found driving the kids to their many extracurricular activities.  My hubby is a school administrator and we stay very busy with school functions, events and of course cheering on all the kids. 

I began creating cards 18 years ago (with the original stamp pads, markers and whatever paper I could find to pretty them up).  I have since joined several amazing teams, met so many incredible ladies from all over the world and been blessed to be inspired/create with some of the most wonderful friends.

  I am beyond thrilled and honored to be joining the My Mind’s Eye team.  I feel truly blessed for this opportunity and to be able to get to know and create with all of you.

Danni created some stunning cards for us. Be on the lookout for closeups and details soon...these deserve a post all of their own. :)

 

Up next is the fantastic Tina Walker. Tina stood out to us because it's clear she loves MME and enjoys using our paper and embellishments in a multitude of playful and creative ways.Hello! My name is Tina Walker. I have been crafty since I was a little girl.  I have my grandma to thank for that! Just like you, I am completely obsessed with scrapbooking and mixed media projects. I love embracing all types of styles,designs,and techniques.

My design style includes a little of this and a little of that. Someone once described my style as a "chameleon" style and I like that definition. I like creating artsy, grungy projects on one day, but then simple, clean layouts the next. I also like to 'cluster' items together on a page and love to stitch things in place.

What other talents do I possess?  Well, I'm not sure you would call it a talent, but I love to take pictures of totally random objects.  Since my kids are grown, I have to get creative on what I scrapbook about, so I will often create projects around every day things, such a traffic lights, signs, produce, sewing machines, etc.   

My '4-legged children' are also the subject of many of my layouts. I would like to thank My Mind's Eye for this tremendous opportunity.  I am so excited to be part of this team and I look forward to days full of creating!

Indie Chic Ginger by Stephanie

Happy Thursday MME fans, Stephanie here again! So glad you stopped by today! I hope you've been enjoying "Indie Chic Week"...I know I have!

I'm back today to share a layout I made using Indie Chic- specifically the Ginger color scheme.

I've noticed a lot of comments about how the Ginger and Saffron color schemes are great for girl layouts and how the Citron and Nutmeg color schemes are perfect for boy layouts.

I thought I'd use Ginger to make a masculine layout to show that the products can go either way. :)

The dimensions of the layout are 8 1/2 by 11:

Supplies: Indie Chic-Ginger:6x6 paper pad,border stickers,layered chipboard,label stickers,twine,brads,Brocade patterned paper,Tulips patterned paper,misc: American Crafts thickers,American Crafts precision pen,scissors,adhesive

I cut the Brocade patterned paper into strips and cut the strips into arrow shapes.Underneath the arrow shapes I used a banner from the border sticker sheet.

I also used the twine in two places to symbolize yellow ribbon, as my husband is deployed.

The chipboard accent (the journey with you is worth every step) is the perfect sentiment for this page. I couldn't have possibly put how i feel into words any better than that!

One last thing- the very top "arrow" is actually a label. I trimmed the end into a point.

Indie Chic Nutmeg by Jana

Hey friends! It's Jana again...and I'm back with some more Indie Chic projects. This time I'm using the Nutmeg color scheme!

Supplies:kraft cardstock;Indie Chic-Nutmeg:'Memories' Tapestry patterned paper,Rose Patch patterned paper;'Boy' Southwest patterned paper,Checker patterned paper,brads;'History" Blooms patterned paper;6x6 paper pad;Family' journal card;'Hanging Out' stamps;misc-American Crafts letter stickers,teal ink,brown distressing ink,circle punches,circle cutter,trimmer,scissors,adhesives

On this layout I used the "Hanging Out" Stamps to create my own page accents. I stamped the border piece onto kraft cardstock.

Using the same ink, I created the circle accents by stamping them onto one of the 6 x 6 mini papers. I also accented the journal block with the compass and date stamp. I love the way it turned out!

I love the look of a hand-pieced picnic quilt and used that as an inspiration for this fun card . . . a perfect way to use up those scraps!

Indie Chic Saffron with Stephanie

Hey y'all!

It's Stephanie and I'm here to share a layout I made using the Indie Chic Saffron color scheme.

While i LOVE MME papers (their texture and weight is beautiful) my favorite MME items to scrap with are embellishments.

I feel like My Mind's Eye keeps coming up with fun,whimsical, and stylish embellishments...all without seeming trendy at ALL. They are timeless. So that means I never have a hard time using them!

I tend to cluster MME embellishments on my page for maximum impact. Here I used chipboard elements, pearls,layered stickers,buttons, and banners to represent the happiness and joy my daughter brings me.

Indie Chic Citron with Jana

Happy Monday to you! This is Jana and I am here to share a few Indie Chic projects with you. Today I'm using the Citron color scheme exclusively.

First is a 12x12 layout:

I love using the die cut titles to layer with other page elements. They make the perfect frames for titles and accents!

I also used the Citron color scheme to make this happy card. The design was inspired  by the saying on the chipboard accent.

I decided to handcut my own flower shapes from the 6 x 6 paper pad. The designs on these papers are the perfect scale for smaller designs! They look so fun and playful layered together with the Indie Chic "What a Day" Buttons.

I have one last Citron project to share today- a special gift box.

This would make the perfect box to hold some goodies for dad on Father's Day.

I wanted a square accent for the front of my box, so I gently pulled apart one of the layered stickers and reassembled it so that it was going the direction that would work better for my design.

In the process, I layered it together with patterned papers from the 6 x 6 paper pad to make it even more dimensional.

To add a bit of interest to the sides of the box, I used a star punch to cut "windows" in the patterned paper border strip.

To top it all off, I tied the box closed using a length of Follow Your Heart kraft twine and a chipboard element from the Indie Chic Citron collection.

On the Sunny Side with Suzanne

Happy Tuesday! This is Suzanne, and I'm here to share a brand new layout I made using On the Sunny Side!

The bright, and happy colors of On the Sunny Side are my favorite colors when creating a page.Believe it or not, this photo of my daughter was taken in the fall, but because I live in sunny California, it is sunny almost all year long!

 

The beautiful weather inspired me to document these photos of Gabi getting ready for her tennis lessons.

What I love most about MME are the various embellishments that are included in this collection. Having everything in front of me helps to pull the elements together.

 

I used the banner chipboard shapes as the rays for my sun. I love these trendy shapes! I also used the oval chipboard shape as the title for my page.

Using elements from the brads, layered stickers, and accessory sheet, I was able to add a few fun details to this sunny page!

Nostalgia with Tamara

Hey everyone! It's Tamara and I'm here to share a page I made using the brand new Nostalgia collection!

I love the new Nostalgia Collection!!  The colors, patterns, and elements have the unique feel from the 1940s.and 1950s - but with a fresh new twist.

 

The colors worked perfectly with these photos I snapped of my little guy on the school playground after Kindergarten.  I can't believe he is in 3rd grade now, where did 4 years go?!?! 

 

The layered stickers, chipboard, and brads add such great dimensional elements and visual interest to the page.
