Hi, Everyone! Jana Eubank here. I adore Spring! It makes my heart happy to hear birds chirping again and to feel the bright sunshine streaming through the windows. The trees start to bud and burst open with beautiful white and soft pink flowers. It's magical! The Follow Your Heart "Be Happy" collection reminds me so much of the colors found on in springtime blossoms and was just begging to be used on this Easter page.
Every year we have an Easter egg hunt for my family at our house. We always get the kids to pose on the porch afterwards, and it's lots of fun to look back on the pictures each year and see how they have grown. Only this time, they were being silly . . . lots of goofy outtake pictures that are still a blast to scrap!
I went for a soft monochromatic look on this page with lots of visual texture. There are a lot of layers and embellishments on this page, but because of their soft colors, them seem to recede into the background and still allow the photos to take center stage.
I used decorative brads and chipboard elements from the Follow Your Heart "Be Happy" collection, but also mixed in a few label stickers from the Miss Caroline collection.
I hand cut a couple of polaroid frames from the "Be Happy" Adorable paper to create a little Easter basket vignette on my page. I framed pieces of the Follow Your Heart "Be Happy" 6" x 6" papers and then sandwiched sections of the transparencies in between the frame and the patterned paper. A few chipboard pieces and decorative brads finish them off.
The Easter basket was created using my Cricut machine and filled it with punched Easter eggs. The honeycomb mini paper was a perfect way to get several "different" eggs out of one sheet of paper. I used a border punch to create the grass. A little bit of twine tied around adds some softness.
Creating this page made me excited that our next Easter egg hunt is just around the corner!
Happy Spring!
