Most of you know that I adore stamps, especially the ones that My Minds Eye produces to go with their collections. I love making backgrounds with them to bring them from a single image to being the paper image.
and the latest stamps in the Funday release are no different. I think my Favourite is the numbers stamp on the Bright Days set and the Big spiky labels on the Everyday set.
I love cling stamps for the ability to see where they are going and the ability to be distorted in shape so a straight banner can turn into a curved banner without any damage to the stamp.
For my ink pad colours, I always try to go with one of the colours in the papers that I have picked out to try and either make them pop or subdue the other colours. This time i went for the yellow to make it a bit more cheery and girlie (the colour match is much closer in real life - my photo taking ability is crap with the rainy days)
This background strip was to add a block of colour without adding more paper. I just stamped and slightly over stamped the image to give it some added texture.
And I love twisting the use of a product – this time I took the felt edge trims and sewed a running stitch in them to make flowers. The pre cut edges give these flowers a little extra bit of interest. I added some buttons and brads for added dimension. and then i did a gather stitch in the banner felt and added that to get more of the yellow colour in the layout.
Supplies: Kraft FunDay 6x6” paper pad, wood banner tags, buttons,, twine and trims and the wonderful stamps. Other – needle for sewing, white cardstock, inkpads.
This is me and Fay both at eight years old. Fay looks so much like her dad most of the time but sometimes, I capture ina photograph proof of that look where I can see a little of myself in her and that makes me happy.
I hope you liked how I used the stamps and felt on this layout.
Regards,
