As most grandmother's do, my mom absolutely adores her grandchildren. For Mother's Day each year I try to create a project for my mom that incorporates a current picture of all nine of her grandchildren. This year I chose to alter a frame for her scrapbook room. She recently repainted it a beautiful, deep plum color and I just know that the NEW Lime Twist Happy Go Lucky collection will be the perfect compliment to her paint color.
I chose a frame that has seven 4 X 6 openings. I decided to add a sentiment to the center opening and then use the surrounding openings to house the grandkids' pictures.
I used my Cricut Expression Die Cut Machine to cut out the lettering for the center opening. I love the way the colors POP against that dark blue houndstooth pattern of the "Together" Dotty Paper. A Turquoise Lush Button adds a friendly accent to the die cut heart.
As I composed the design for the remainder of the openings, I treated each square individually, almost like a card, or miniature scrapbook page. The coordinated papers and die cuts tie everything together and make it a snap to put this project together.
Lime Twist Twine and Lush 2 buttons/gems add a bit of dimension without feeling overly fussy.
This project came together much quicker than I expected, thanks to all of the coordinated papers and elements of the Lime Twist collection. And the great thing about this project is that you can find these types of frames almost anywhere these days. Pick one up next time you're out and about and give one a try! Any mom or grandmother is sure to appreciate a collage of cute faces!
Have a Happy Mother's Day!
