This time of year is very social around our house. We like to pack the kids in the car and go visiting and we also get a lot of company. The other thing that gets kicked into full gear around this time is holiday baking!! That leads me to one of my favorite ways to blend the holidays, baking and paper crafting. I like to make super quick and easy packaging for the goodies we make and then give them as gifts. These pretty packages are perfect for hostess gifts, a little something for your child’s teacher or for your neighbors.
Simply trim two strips of cardstock, one approximately 12” x 5” and the second 8” x 5”. Attach the two pieces to create one long strip. Create two folds for the base and a third fold to create the front flap. Using a 1 ½” circle punch create an opening at the top of the package. Cut a piece of patterned paper from the Union Square line and attach it to the front. Add stickers and rhinestones to a “Simply Perfect in Every Way” tag and attach it to the front flap with two holly shaped leaves.
Add treats to a cellophane bag and insert the bag through the opening at the top of the package. Punch two holes and add a ribbon to tie the box closed.
This is definitely a quick solution for holiday gift giving and something your children can help you create. Hope you and yours have a safe and happy holiday season!
So that you can make these also, My Mind’s Eye is giving away the Union Square collection!
