In the midst of all the holiday chaos, I know it can be difficult but I do hope you are taking a bit of "ME" time to simply feed your creative souls desire to CREATE! If time is a factor, why not kill two birds with one stone and create something that can be used this holiday season, either as home decor for yourself or perhaps a gift for someone on your list?
I started with a simple white Shadowbox frame that I picked up at Home Sense in Canada for $7.99. Using the My Mind's Eye HOLLY JOLLY Collection of papers, embellishments and stamps I got to work.
I started by using the Holly Jolly Stamps (HJ1015) and stamped the holly, ornaments and candy cane images both inside and outside of the Shadowbox frame using Red Brick and Forest Moss Distress Inks. You should know that the inks tend to smear so do this carefully! I used my heat gun to set the images.
I then covered the background of my shadowbox with HOLLY JOLLY "Ornamental" Paper (HJ1007). I popped up the holly and berries as well as the "MERRY CHRISTMAS" banner letters from the Decorative Chipboard Elements (HJ1012) and closed up the shadowbox.
On the outside of the shadowbox, I tied the lovely blue ribbon from the HOLLY JOLLY Decorative Trims (HJ1016) around each of the three chipboard ornaments. I then popped them up on the outside of the glass and on the frame.
Lastly, I added a bit of Glossy Accents to the chipboard Ornaments to create a bit of dimension. I also created holly berries on the stamped holly images on the frame by adding dots of Burgundy Stickles. Once dry, I was able to call this project compete!
Your Christmas projects do not have to be time intensive or over the top difficult to create a keepsake that will be cherished for many years to come!
From my family to yours, I wish you all the happiest of holidays and plenty of joy in the new year!
