Hello, everyone!
My name is Suzanne Sergi, and I am beyond thrilled to have the opportunity to Guest Design for MME in October! I have been a huge fan of My Mind's Eye Products for a very long time! So to actually, have the opportunity to guest design, is fabulous! I have always been drawn to their collections, because they offer a full range of paper to embellishments! To a girl, who's first love is paper, it is a perfect match!
A few details about me:
I live in Orange County, and have been married to Steven for twelve years. I am so very lucky to have a husband that is supportive of my hobby. (He might call it an addiction!) We have three beautiful, and very active children. Gabriela is 12 years old, Roman is 7 years old, and Miss Macie is 5 years old. I am blessed to be a stay at home Mom, and in the afternoons you can find me driving my children to football, and competitive cheer practices. (We are originally from Texas!!) So with a busy schedule, scrapbooking is a must! It is my creative outlet, and simply makes me happy! A perfect day for me, is spending time in my scrapbook room.
I started scrapbooking right after the birth of my first daughter. I wanted to find a way to document all of her special moments, so I walked into a scrapbooking store in search of an album. I was there for about ten minutes, and left with so much more. I will admit, it seemed like all I was doing, was collecting a huge amount of scrapbooking supplies!! I finally, began to create, and documenting our family's snapshots. For me, this hobby is so important in documenting the special memories, and the everyday moments, too. I have also met some incredible women through this craft, and am blessed to call them friends.
With all of my children now in school, I am finding it hard to adjust to this new schedule. I usually scrapbook at night, when the house is quiet. Now, I find the house quiet very early in the day. So I am trying to give myself "permission" to scrapbook during the day! LOL
What inspires me when I sit down to scrapbook? My scrapbook pages are inspired by my snapshots, and the story I want to document. As I am browsing my photo library, a snapshot will spark a memory that I want to capture on paper. To be honest, it can simply be brand new product that I cannot wait to use on my projects! (For example, the Lost & Found, and Haunted Collection were two of my faves this year!!!) I love creating pages, minis, and home decor items. There is nothing like holding a small chunky treasure, filled with special snapshots, and perfectly matched embellishments!
Now, if I had to pick my favorite collection from MME, that would be very difficult! I fell in love with the brads, buttons, and fancy trims that were introduced this year. So I guess, Haunted, and the entire Lost & Found Collection are my favorites! I am a big fan of Halloween, so when I saw the Haunted Collection, I knew it would be perfect for creating Halloween Decor!
