Bewitched Halloween Banner by Suzanne Sergi
Designer: Suzanne Sergi; Featured Product: Haunted
One of my favorite projects to create are banners. For my "Bewitched Halloween Banner" I used my favorite Halloween Collection by My Mind's Eye, Haunted. I love the simple combination of black on the Kraft paper. A perfect combination for your Halloween Decor. I added bits of purple to compliment this color combo. Many of the papers have the beautiful flocked artwork on them. So I cut carefully around them, centering the piece of the image onto my note die, and cut. A very easy way to embellish the panels.
I added a lot of this & that on each panel. I also had fun with the Haunted Decorative brads, as you can see on one panel. I simply used my leftover brads to embellish the circle on the letter "H." It is embellished heavily with the brads, but added a little eeriness to the project.
A quick tip to adding embellishments to your page, is to simply stamp and ink! Stamping is an inexpensive way to add interest, and character to your projects. A simple, and inexpensive technique especially with the Haunted stamp set.
Banners are the perfect finishing details to your decor. A small canvas with so many possibilities!
Blackbird Candelabra by Amber Packer
Designer: Amber Packer; Featured Product: Blackbird
I love the whimsicalness (is that a word?) of the Blackbird collection! I love how the chipboard is pre-glittered and the brads are awesome! I think that Blackbird can also be sophisticated. When I was designing the fireplace mantel for Good Things Utah at the beginning of the month, I found this cute candelabra on sale for $4.00. Could I resist it? Of course not!
What a fun project this was! I simply used mod podge to adhere the paper to the chipboard candelabra. Then I glittered the candles with black glitter. When the glitter was dry, I popped the backs off the Blackbird brads and adhered them to the candle bases using a pop dot. I then punched holes in four small Blackbird chipboard pieces using a Crop-A-Dile, added the jewels using jump rings and add the dangles to the candelabra using jump rings.
I hope you enjoyed this!
