Featured Collection: Pink Lush
I really enjoyed this "Blast From the Past" Challenge. I rarely scrapbook pages of myself - and I can't get more "past", than a baby picture. I've always loved the pink and brown color combo, so I HAD to use it for this layout. The subtle monochromatic color scheme of the "Lush" line was perfect for the color blocking sketch. I had fun hand sewing these three flowers with the pink ribbons - I love the delicious textures! Gently pulling the thread in the stitched ribbon, gathers it easily. I used the Brown rhinestones because they almost have a soft blush tone that worked perfect with this pink and brown layout. I glittered the chipboard letters with Diamond Stickles. Love all the feminine "bling" on this page!
Anam Stubbington:
Featured Collection: Quite Contrary “Mary Mary” and “Jack & Jill”
“My pink Vespa. Not new to me but loved very much. It was the one thing that kept me going and gave me a way out of the life I had then. Of everything from that time, I miss this the most.”
Trisha Ladouceur:
Featured Collection: Blue and Brown Lush
What I love best about My Mind's Eye is it's versatility. Anyone who knows me and my scrapbook style knows that I like lumps and bumps on my pages and lots of texture. Well, the LUSH collection fulfills that preference with ease. The flocked papers and adhesive chipboard letters add a bit of warmth to any paper crafting project and the simplicity of the patterns do not over power your layout.
As you can see, I used the brown collection of LUSH papers and combined them with the blue decorative brads and ribbons as well as the chipboard alphas. The journaling was done on strips of blue paper which provided the perfect amount of contrast!
One of my favourite tips to really make the chipboard letters pop off the page is to gently outline then with a fine tipped pen.

Winner of our “Dress up your Frame-ups contest” is: Joli!
I am loving those door hangers!!! My kids would love having a few to be able to change out with seasons/holidays. I also think this would be a fun easy way for them to make crafts themselves.

Winner of Tamara’s Favorite Things “Lush, Lush and Lush” is: Shauna!
Awesome layouts! I really like the slide layout and the way you've used the paper to create a similar shape behind the photo. I love the "breaking free" double layout, reminds me of my little guy!!
