The picture, paper and other embellishments all blend together seamlessly in this eye catching layout!
“I haven't done a shabby/distressed etc. page in a loooong time. I used to do almost all of my pages with paper like this and have veered towards fun brighter colors since I came back to scrapping this year. It was fun to get out my ink (which four years later is as good as new lol). If you love kraft paper you NEED this line, the backs of all of these are perfect wonderful kraft paper and I adore this grid paper I used for the background.”

Chris’ layout is just divine! The papers in our Life Stories collection are perfect with the picture of Chris' Grandma. The story behind this picture is what scrapbooking is all about! Just a warning: prepare to cry.
“November 10, 1994: That's the last day i saw my grandmother alive. She died 15 years ago today. Today is one of the longest days of the year for me. I was very close to my grandmother. She was my everything. I spent all of my breaks with her. She taught me to cook. We crafted together. She taught me to cross stitch, embroidery, she tried to teach me to sew and crochet, but i could never grasp these. .. lol. She was the only one that believed in me and loved me for "me".
This picture was taken on my grandparents 50th wedding anniversary. Scott took leave and we went to Texas. Brock was the first great-grandchild for them. This was the first and last time she would ever see Brock. She loved him before he was ever born. Before Scott's leave was approved, she would call me crying saying that she wasn't going to get to see him ... I think she knew she was going to die soon. She wasn't sick, she had a breast removed due to cancer several years prior, but she wasn't sick. When i was at her house her Christmas cactus was in full bloom. It was beautiful. I said mine hasn't bloomed, she said put it in the morning sun. I got home, moved it into the sun and it started putting on blooms. Then she died. My cactus still blooms at this time every year. We call it grandma. It's the only plant that made EVERY move with us. I miss her every day. Every day i think of her. Everyday my heart yearns for her.”
