Hi there! My name is Beth Proudfoot, and I am thrilled to be the October guest designer for My Mind’s Eye! I live a busy but charming life in rural New Jersey with my husband, Kevin, and our three children: Jack, Sam and Kate. When I began scrapbooking in 2000, I had no idea that what started as a “naptime” hobby would turn into a passion. Although life is a lot busier now, I always carve out small snippets of time in between the day to day tasks of laundry, meals and errands, to record my family’s stories with photos, words, and of course, fun product!
They might not know it, but My Mind’s Eye and I (try saying that five times fast!) go way back. In 2002, while channel surfing, I discovered my first scrapbooking segment on QVC. The hostess was showcasing a My Mind’s Eye Frame-Ups kit chock full of titles, frames, die cuts and those adorable little Frame-Up friends that we all came to know and love. The whimsical product design and the notion of using coordinated products to create quick and easy layouts immediately appealed to me. Needless to say, I placed my first order that evening, and within a week I was creating layouts like this:
(I’m particularly proud of this layout because it is one of the first to be published in Simple Scrapbooks Magazine.)
Many layouts and years later, my style has evolved, but one thing has remained the same—I keep reaching for the bright, fun, graphic designs of My Mind’s Eye.
I think my all time favorite line is Kaleidoscope:
With Magnolia and Confetti tying for second:
I also LOVE Penny Lane and the newest Ooh La La collection. I just can’t resist the florals, circles and stripes in both lines. With a handful of coordinated accents and a few chipboard glitter accents, I was able to create these fun layouts in record time. Now THAT’S the type of scrapbooking I love!
So tell me, what’s your all time favorite My Mind’s Eye product? Leave a comment here and you’ll automatically be entered to win a Penny Lane and Ooh La La prize package directly from the good people at My Mind’s Eye! The winner will be announced next Monday.
And stay tuned…I have some more layouts and cards to share with you throughout the month. Until then, come visit me at www.bethproudfoot.blogspot.com!
