Hi everyone! It's Stephanie with you here to share my monthly mini album! I am so honored to be replacing the lovely Monika Wright. I know you all loved her monthly minis as much as I did! I promise to bring you fun and inspirational projects each month!!Alrighty! For the mini this month, I wanted to create a "pocket album" to hold photos and my journaling. Pockets are great because you can add additional photos and journaling without having too bulky of an album. It's really so simple to make. Let's get started!
Pocket Mini Album Supply list:
My Mind's Eye Cut & Paste collection
2 book rings
Sewing machine or washi tape
Begin by gathering your favorite papers from My Mind's Eye! I decided to use the soft blues, pinks and greys from the new Cut & Paste collection. Trim each piece of paper to 5.25x12 inches. Trim your chipboard covers to 5.25x7 inches.
Take your trimmer and your bone folder and score your paper 5 inches from the bottom.
Now fold up with bottom of your paper on your score line and gently press your bone folder along the edge for a clean and crisp fold.
Once you have trimmed and folded your paper, you will have your base supplies all ready to go! I ended up trimming the remaining Cut & Paste paper for a few additional pages in my album.
If you have a sewing machine, sew along the outer edge of your pocket. I use regular polyester thread and a basic needle in my sewing machine. If you've never sewn on paper before and have a sewing machine, give it a try! It's so easy and adds so much texture to your projects.
If you don't have a sewing machine, grab some of the new decorative tapes from My Mind's Eye and tape the edges of your pocket! It will work just the same!
Grab your hole punch and add holes at the top of each pocket page and each piece of chipboard.
All that's left to do now is complete your album.
I used the some of the lovely embellishments and stickers from the Cut & Paste collection, as well as some goodies from the Collectable collection.
Here is a look at my finished album.
To continue with the "pocket theme", I adhered a vellum envelope to one of the extra papers I trimmed. I added my journaling card and some sequins inside for a fun little touch to the page.
Office supply tags make great journaling spots! I added a few strips of washi from the Decorative Tape sets for some color.
Sewing three side of a journaling card also creates a great pocket. Here I sewed the Cut & Paste "Flair" card to my page and then added a few pictures and notes inside.
And that's it from me today! Thank you so much for joining me! I hope this simple album inspires you to document your memories! If you have any questions for me, feel free to leave them in the comments section and I will answer them there! See you next month!
